MHA Nation Celebrates Opening Of Community Health Resource Center With Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

The Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation and Consolidated Construction Co., Inc. celebrated the opening of the new MHA Community Health Resource Center on Thursday, June 4, with a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Elbowoods Memorial Health Center campus in New Town, North Dakota.
The new facility brings together a wide range of community health programs and services under one roof, creating a centralized and accessible resource for care, education and wellness support for MHA Nation members and the surrounding region. Located at 1058 College Drive on the Elbowoods Memorial Health Center campus, the Center is designed to serve approximately 8,400 Native American and Alaska Native residents across the Fort Berthold Reservation.
The MHA Community Health Resource Center integrates Indian Health Service community health programs with MHA Nation Health Department functions in a single, collaborative environment. Services housed within the facility include Public Health Nursing, Community Health Representatives, Environmental Health, Health Education, Home-Based Health, Tribal Health Insurance, the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program, Infant and Toddler Programs, and occupational, physical and speech therapy services.
By bringing these essential services together in one location, the Center is expected to strengthen coordination of care, expand access to services, and support prevention, education and overall community wellness for the Fort Berthold Service Population.
“The opening of the Community Health Resources Center reflects our continued commitment to the health and well-being of our people,” said Mark Fox, Tribal Chairman of the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation. “This facility brings important services together in one place, making it easier for families to access the care, education and support they need while strengthening the resources available to our communities.”
The ribbon cutting ceremony marked an important milestone for MHA Nation and its ongoing investment in facilities and services that support long-term health, resilience and quality of life for current and future generations.
