City Serve Takes On Projects In Stanley

City Serve ND, an outreach by The Pursuit churches, was active in Stanley again last weekend as they took on projects on Friday, June 5 and Saturday, June 6.
On Friday, they hosted a free lunch for emergency services providers in the area. They invited all local first responders to join them at the Stanley Fire Hall as a way to say “thank you” to the men and women who serve and protect the community every day. They invited all firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMTs, paramedics, dispatchers, or other first responders to enjoy a meal on them.
Saturday saw volunteers tackling clean up in the city. They were on Main Street, around Flickertail Village and by the Circle K station.
Another group gathered at the Lowe’s Garden Center tent on Main Street to plant flower barrels to put in the new patio spaces at the Mountrail Bethel Home. Volunteers were able to select what flowers they wanted in each of the planters.
This is the sixth year The Pursuit held a city serve project in Stanley. The goal of City Serve is to bless the community by helping out with projects that will benefit the community and the residents that live there.
The City Serve ND website says that they enjoy doing projects that help move the organization or individual forward. They value projects where they get to join hands together and minister not only with each other, but to each other. Another core value of their projects is that they are able to spend time with individuals. They get to hear their stories and minister to their spiritual needs, as well as their physical needs.
