Lions Hold First Summer BBQ
The Stanley Lions held their first burgers in the park on Monday, June 8. The Lions Club holds the summer barbecues on the second Monday of the month during the summer with each month’s proceeds going to different entities.
Proceeds from this first event were donated to the Ina Mae Rude Aquatic Center. With Gooseneck Implement as the food sponsor, the Lions were able to donate $2,100 from this month.
The next Burgers in the Park will be held on Monday, July 13 with proceeds going to the Park District and Border Plains sponsoring the food. The final one will be Monday, Aug. 10 with proceeds going to the SACK program. BBH and Thrivent will be the food sponsor.
The Stanley Lions Club does not meet during the summer months, so Burgers in the Park gives them and the community an opportunity to get together for a good cause.
