Halloween Activities Abound

Halloween Activities Abound

It was a busy weekend in Stanley as there were plenty of activities for kids and families to celebrate Halloween.
Main Street was full on Friday afternoon as the Stanley Commercial Club’s annual Trail of Treats returned with kids going from store to store not only on Main Street, but at a number of other businesses located around town.
On Friday evening, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints hosted a chili and soup cook-off with cooks looking to win the “golden ladle”.  That was followed by a trunk or treat in the parking lot.
The annual Holy-Ween party returned to the Stanley High School on Saturday afternoon. Sponsored by Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, the God-centered program had stations that included St. Michael’s Tug O’ War, St. Peter’s Fish Toss, David and Goliath, All Aboard the Ark, I’m Fall-O-Ween Jesus, Grateful Graffiti, FROG Flinger, Tower of Babel and much more.
Activities moved to the Mountrail County Fair Building and South Complex in the evening for the Fall Spectacular. The evening included trunk or treat, food served by Cashwise, carnival games, music and more.
With Halloween on Saturday and decent weather, streets were packed with kids going door to door for the traditional trick or treating as well.
