NDCF Presents Donations To MCMC

Steve Lipp of the North Dakota Community Foundation presented two checks totaling $39,500 to the Mountrail County Medical Center on Thursday, Oct. 29.
The check included $5,000 from the NDCF’s statewide greatest needs fund, which recognizes organizations working to improve the quality of life for North Dakota residents. This grant is for blanket and fluid warming supplies.
“These grants reflect the wide range of needs in communities across North Dakota,” said Steve Lipp, President and CEO of NDCF. “Each recipient is doing important work to strengthen its community, and we are grateful to the donors whose generosity allows us to support these efforts year after year.”
The Statewide Greatest Needs Fund is an unrestricted endowment established to address changing charitable and community needs across North Dakota. Each year, the NDCF Board of Directors awards grants from the fund to organizations and projects serving communities throughout the state.
The donation also included a $34,500 grant from the Otto Bremer Trust Community Responsive Fund for MCMC to purchase non-magnetic equipment, safety infrastructure, and patient support items for the MRI suite.
NDCF has been selected as a philanthropic intermediary partner to administer and distribute funds from OBT’s Community Responsive Fund to organizations in North Dakota. NDCF serves as a local expert to help OBT increase its positive impact by providing and administering grants directly to organizations within North Dakota that provide effective services and programs. OBT’s five areas of focus in 2026 are food, shelter, low-income healthcare clinics, disability services, and school-based mental health.
“We are pleased to partner with the Otto Bremer Trust to support organizations that provide essential services across North Dakota,” said Steve Lipp, President & CEO of NDCF. “These grants will help our nonprofit partners meet basic needs and improve access to healthcare, disability services, and mental health support in the communities they serve.”
“The North Dakota Community Foundation is a vital bridge for rural communities to connect with charitable and philanthropic minded donors. As they state on their website: North Dakotans helping North Dakotans. Over the years the Mountrail County Health Foundation has utilized these grant opportunities to help fund projects for both the Medical Center and the Nursing Home. We could not continue to have the lifeline of care for Mountrail County if it was not for entities such as the NDCF and their community partners,” said Steph Everett, MCMC Administrator.
