Stanley FFA Meats Evaluation Team Competes At National FFA Convention

Stanley FFA Meats Evaluation Team received 3rd place honors at the 99th National FFA Convention.
Stanley FFA had five members compete in three meat evaluation contests this past month. They began their competitions in Brookings, SD, at the Minnesota Region 5 and 6 contest, where our members took home 1st place honors, and all placed in the top 10 individually. Then, later that week, they took off to begin their journey to the 99th National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, IN. On the way to the convention, our members competed in the Nebraska Beef Contest in Omaha, NE. At this contest, our team placed 2nd overall, with Brooklyn Weyrauch placing 6th individually, Cooper Sem placing 7th individually, Rebecca Littlefield placing 10th individually, and Breanna Istilart placing 24th individually.
After the contest in Nebraska, our members were able to practice at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln and the University of Illinois before the contest day at Purdue University. At the National FFA Convention, our members were able to walk across the stage in the Indianapolis Colts stadium as they took home 3rd place honors. Rebecca Littlefield was recognized at the session as the 5th place overall individual, Brooklyn Weyrauch placed 16th individually, Cooper Sem placed 17th individually, and Breanna Istilart placed 37th individually out of 171 total contestants.
Thank you to those who have helped our students practice and provided sponsorship for the trip.
