Stanley Hosts NWC And Jacob Hynek Memorial Meets

Stanley hosted the Northwest Conference Meet on Thursday, Apr. 30 and the Jacob Hynek Memorial Twilight Meet on Friday, May 1 at the Stanley High School.
Thursday’s meet featured both junior high and varsity events, while Friday was a varsity meet.
NWC Meet
On Thursday, Apr. 30, the Northwest Conference Meet featured eighteen teams competing in both the junior high and varsity events.
In the boys’ varsity events, Stanley was first with 111.5 team points, followed by New Town with 90, Powers Lake-Burke Central with 86, DLB/L&C with 77 and Williams County rounding out the top five with 67.5 points. Parshall was 11th with 21 and Lewis and Clark Plaza was tied for 17th with 2 points. In the junior high boys’ events, Williams County was first with 81.5 team points, followed by Stanley with 79, Powers Lake-Burke Central with 68, Surrey with 54 and Garrison rounding out the top five with 35 points. Parshall was sixth with 28; New Town, 11th with 21; and Lewis and Clark Plaza, 17th with 3.
In the girls’ varsity events, DLB/L&C was first was with 102 team points, followed by Nedrose with 89, Bishop Ryan with 88, Kenmare-Bowbells with 70 and Stanley rounding out the top five with 58.5 points. Parshall was 10th with 33; New Town, 12th with 23; and Lewis and Clark Plaza, 13th with 17. In the girls’ junior high events, Stanley was first with 116 team points, followed by Nedrose with 90, Kenmare-Bowbells with 52, Garrison with 51 and Williams County rounding out the top five with 43 points. Parshall was 11th with 16 points; Lewis and Clark Plaza, 12th with 15; and New Town, 15th with 9.

Twilight Meet
The Stanley Blue Jays hosted the 2nd Annual Jacob Hynek Memorial Twilight on Friday, May 1. Varsity teams from around the area came to participate and honor Hynek with donations from the evening going to Brave the Shave in his memory.
On the boys’ side, Stanley finished first with 110 points, followed by Powers Lake-Burke Central and DLB/L&C with 97, Williston with 94 and Williams County rounding out the top five with 48. Parshall finished 8th with 31 and Lewis and Clark Plaza finished fifteenth with 5 team points.
On the girls’ side, Stanley was first with 87.5 points, followed by Max-South Prairie with 85.5, DLB/L&C with 76, Williston with 68 and Bishop Ryan rounding out the top five with 56. Lewis & Clark Plaza was 9th with 42 and Parshall finished 12th with 28 team points.
