Blue Jays Post Win Over Pirates

The Stanley Blue Jays varsity football team was on the road on Friday, Sept. 11 as they met up with the Tioga Pirates, posting their first win on the season.
Neither team scored in the first quarter. The Blue Jays got on the board first in the second on a nine yard pass from Kane Reep to Ben Hynek with the two point conversion good. They scored again on a one yard run by Kane Reep with the two point conversion again good. The Pirates scored on a 33 yard pass from Weston Lalim to Tristian Miller with the two point conversion good to set the score at 16 to 8 in favor of the Blue Jays at the end of the half.
Tioga got on the board first in the third quarter on a one yard run by Clay Placek with the two point conversion failing. Stanley responded with an eight yard passing touchdown from Kane Reep to Ben Hynek with the two point conversion good to set the score at 24 to 14 at the end of the third quarter.
In the fourth quarter, Stanley scored on a 27 yard pass from Kane Reep to Colter Fladeland. The point after kick was no good. Tioga scored on a four yard run by Weston Lalim with the two point attempt failing. Ben Hynek scored on a one yard rush with the two point conversion failing. Tioga put their final score on the board on a two yard run by Clay Placek with the two point conversion failing. That left the final score 36 to 26 in favor of the Blue Jays.
The Blue Jays had 427 yards of total offense, including 198 yards passing and 229 yards rushing, compared to 181 yards for the Pirates with 193 yards passing and -12 yards rushing. Stanley turned the ball over three times, twice on fumbles and once on an interception. Tioga had two turnovers, one fumble and one interception.

Passing: Kane Reep completed 11 of 18 passing attempts for 198 yards with three touchdowns and one interception.
Rushing: Regan Gustafson had 26 carries for 182 yards; Landon Hunting, 5 carries for 42 yards and one touchdown; Ben Hynek, 2 carries for 5 yard and one touchdown; Kane Reep, 6 carries and one touchdown.
Receiving: Ben Hynek had 8 catches for 86 yards and two touchdowns; Larson Fjeldahl, 2 catches for 70 yards; Colter Fladeland, 1 catch for 27 yards and one touchdown.
Defense: Kolton Longmuir, 15 tackles; Regan Gustafson, 11 tackles; Colter Fladeland, 6 tackles, one interception; Levi Uran, 6 tackles, one interception; Ben Hynek, 5 tackles, 2 sacks; Landon Hunting, 5 tackles; Oscar Garcia, 3 tackles; James Kennedy, 2 tackles; Cooper Rismon, 2 tackles, 1 sack; Kane Reep, 2 tackles; Devon Wittmayer, 1 tackle; Asher Batteiger, 1 tackle.
