Stanley FFA Competes In District Tractor Operator Contest And Hosts 2nd Annual Golf Tournament
Stanley FFA had seven members compete at the North Dakota FFA District 1 Tractor Operator Contest.
Drew Pennington, Carter Goettle, and Landon Goettle competed in the Advanced Division while Henry Sorenson, Alex Pennington, Jake Germundson and Dayne Lund competed in the Basic Division.
Carter Goettle took home first place honors in the Advanced Division and will compete at the state contest at the North Dakota State Fair on Friday, July 17th, along with Drew Pennington, Landon Goettle, Henry Sorenson and Alex Pennington, who also advanced.
Along with the Tractor Operator contest, members also competed at the Mountrail County Achievement Days in both the static and livestock divisions. We will highlight that event in next week’s paper.
The Stanley FFA officers and meat evaluation team rounded out the busy week by hosting the 2nd Annual Golf Tournament. A total of twelve teams competed in the fun event! Golfers received a gift bag for participating and earned a chance to win a door prize, with several prizes given out! Thank you to the businesses that sponsored door prizes - West End Boutique, Berthold Farmers Elevator, Pinnacle, Thrivent and RTC.
First place in the tournament went to Kris Havlorson, Bill Lowry, Shannon Holter and Josh Swenson; 2nd place went to the Hynek Farms Team, consisting of Jack Hynek, Camden Reep, Cooper Dupay and Tyler Gjellstad; 3rd place ended up in a tie between Gustafson Septic, Nick Gustafson, Cody Rudolph, Raygen Lee and Quintin Lee, and G Energy, Jonathan Chavez, Luis Garcia, Gilberto Garcia and Caleb Mortensen.
