New Town To Celebrate Anniversary
The city of New Town will be celebrating its 75th Anniversary on Saturday, Aug. 29. There is a full day of events scheduled to commemorate the occasion.
Events will kick off at 10 a.m. with the celebration parade and opening of vendor booths. The Venue will be open with the history of New Town. Activities will include inflatables, a three on three basketball tournament, a corn hole tournament and tours of the high school and its new additions.
At noon, Missing Lynx is set to perform. They will also perform at 2:30 p.m.
The ribbon cutting for the new City Hall, Police Department and The Venue is set for 1:30 p.m. with tours of the new city hall facility set for 2:00 p.m.
Throughout the past few months, artists have been hard at work painting benches. Those benches will be auctioned off at 3:30 p.m.
MHA Tourism cultural dancers will have a performance at 5:00 p.m. and the parade of champions will be at 6:00 p.m. The day will wrap up with a dance at 8:00 p.m.
