Mountrail County Health Foundation Holds 12th Annual Golf Scramble

On Saturday, June 7th, the Mountrail County Health Foundation (MCHF) held their 12th Annual Golf Scramble at the Prairie Rose Golf Club in Stanley. McGough Construction helped co-sponsor the event.
Birdie and Tee Sponsors this year were Pearl Valley Oilfield Services, Dakota Drug, Mountrail Builders, Chelsey Collins of AFLAC, Mountrail County Farm Bureau, RTC, NAPA, Border Plains Equipment, Bravera Bank, EAPC, Mountrail Williams Electric Cooperative, McGee Law Firm, Pinnacle and MarshMcLennan Agency. A huge thank you to our Hole in One sponsors: Prairie Ford, Gooseneck Implement, Bravera Bank and Border Plains Equipment. There were eighteen teams registered and $17,670 was raised this year. The money raised this year will be used to purchase a new whirlpool bath for the new Nursing Home. Over the past twelve years, the MCHF has raised $153,688 with the help of our wonderful sponsors and our awesome golfers!
The first-place team winners of $400, sponsored by Karen and Wade Enget, included Brent Borud, Mike Miller, Justin Nielsen and Tom Wilhelmi, pictured at the top right. They shot 10 under, with a score of 62. Two teams: Bernie Wasser, Dennis Kvamme, Doug Eggl and Shane Hannegrefs and the team of Kyle Jessen, Hunter Harris, Kristie Harris and Ryan Jessen tied at 9 under with a score of 63. The team of Jessen and Harris, pictured at the bottom right, won the $200 second place prize in a coin toss.
Hole prize winners included longest putt for women on Hole #1 was Paige Gohrick. She won a $50 Souris Valley gift card. Longest drive for men on Hole #1 was Doug Eggl. He won a $50 Scheel’s gift card sponsored by Bismarck Sign Co. Longest drive for women on Hole #2 was Mary Haugtvedt. She won a $50 Scheel’s gift card sponsored by Bismarck Sign Co. Longest putt for men on Hole #2 was Tim Larson. He won a $50 Souris Valley gift card. Closest to the pin, 1st shot on Hole #3 was Hunter Harris. He won two Outdoor Chairs sponsored by Prairie Home Furnishings. Closest to the pin, 2nd shot on Hole #4 was Beau Vachal. He won a case of Titleist Pro V1’s sponsored by Trailsmen Court. Closest to the pin, 1st shot on Hole #6 was Tom Wilhelmi. He won a Bubble Massage Spa sponsored by Ace Hardware. Longest putt for men on Hole #7 was Doug Haugtvedt. He won a $50 Vardon Gift Card sponsored by Rural Health Alliance. Longest putt for women on Hole #8 was Brenda Enga. She won a $50 Vardon Gift Card sponsored by the Rural Health Alliance.
The raffles this year included a Ping G-44 Driver and four rounds of golf at the Vardon Callaway won by Cassidy Fladeland. Also, a Ping Scottsdale Putter and four rounds of golf at Souris, which was won by Josiah Jorgenson.
Numerous door prizes were awarded, sponsored by Michele F, Renae Gjellstad, Targa Resources, Vardon, and Souris Valley Golf Course.
Wilson Park Take Away served breakfast with a Bloody Mary/Mimosa Bar sponsored by Prairie Ford. Tim Dandy’s BBQ and Smoked Meats Food Truck was there serving dinner.
The MCHF wishes to express their gratitude to all the participants, volunteers and sponsors who made this day a great success. Mark your calendars for next year’s Scramble, which is scheduled for June 6th, 2026.
