Volleyball Team Splits Matches
Stanley’s varsity volleyball team continued regular season play with two region matches on their schedule last week. On Tuesday, Oct. 27, they traveled to DLB to face the Lakers, losing the match in four sets. On Thursday, Oct. 29, they wrapped up region play on the road at Turtle Mountain, winning the match in straight sets.
Stanley vs. DLB
On Tuesday, Oct. 27, the Blue Jays were on the road against the DLB Lakers. The Lakers took the first set with a score of 25 to 21, with Stanley coming back to claim the second set 26 to 24. DLB took the next two sets with scores of 25-18 and 26-24 to claim the match.
As a team, the Blue Jays had 46 kills, 5 aces, 81 digs, 9 blocks and 44 assists.
Individual stats were as follows:
Khloe Jemtrud had 23 digs and 2 assists.
Taya Niemitalo had 2 kills, 2 digs and .5 block.
Karley Jemtrud had 5 kills, 8 digs and .5 block.
Brenna Wenger had 4 kills, 2 aces, 8 digs, 3 blocks and 1 assist.
Dani Hermanson had 21 kills, 2 aces, 13 digs, .5 block and 1 assist.
McKenzie Bohrer had 12 digs.
Payton Lystad had 1 kill, 1 dig and 3 blocks.
McKenna Jones had 1 dig.
Maycee Copeland had 5 kills, 1 ace, 11 digs, .5 block and 39 assists.
Annie Roise had 8 kills, 2 digs, 1.5 blocks and 1 assist.

Stanley vs. Turtle Mountain
In their last regular season region matchup, the Blue Jays traveled to Turtle Mountain on Thursday, Oct. 29. Stanley took this match in straight sets with scores of 25-10, 25-19 and 25-15.
As a team, the Blue Jays had 37 kills, 9 aces, 67 digs, 4 blocks and 36 assists.
Individual stats were as follows:
Khloe Jemtrud had 18 digs and 4 assists.

Up Next: After traveling to Killdeer on Monday, Nov. 2, the Blue Jays next action will be the Region 3 tournament at the Minot State University Dome. The tournament starts on Monday, Nov. 9. Number one seed, DLB will have a first round bye. Bottineau (#4) will face Nedrose (#5) in the first game at 4:00 p.m., followed by #2 South Prairie-Max vs. #7 Turtle Mountain. Stanley (#3) will face Rugby (#6) in the final game of the day. Winners will advance to play on Tuesday starting at 5:30 p.m. Championship action will be on Thursday, Nov. 12 with the third place game at 5:30 p.m. followed by the championship match.
