Cross Country Teams Run In Bowman
The Stanley Blue Jays cross country team had just one meet on their schedule last week, traveling to Bowman for the Bowman County invite on Friday, Aug. 29.
In the boys’ 5,000 meters varsity race, Bowman County was first with a team score of 20, followed by Dickinson with 45, Killdeer with 109, Glen Ullin/Hebron with 114 and Dawson County rounding out the top five with 115.
Individually, Jonah Njos of Bowman County was first with a time of 15:55.80. Stanley’s Jason White was 44th with a time of 21:27.40.
In the boys’ 3,000 meters junior varsity race, Dickinson Trinity was first with a team score of 34, followed by Killdeer with 41 and Bowman County with 48.
Individually, Joseph Ellerkamp of Dickinson Trinity was first with a time of 11:27.50. Stanley’s Tyson Durfee was 40th with a time of 19:13.00.
In the girls’ varsity 5,000 meters race, Bowman County was first with a team score of 27, followed by Killdeer with 51, Dickinson with 65, Dawson County with 69 and Baker rounding out the top five with 150.
Individually, Summer Olson of Killdeer was first with a time of 19:20.90. Stanley’s Italia Rodriguez was 21st with 22:32.10; and Jessy Roise, 28th with 23:11.00.
In the girls’ 3,000 meters junior varsity race, Bowman County was first with a team score of 19, followed by Killdeer with 44 and Stanley in third with 91.
Individually, Abigail Burke of Bowman County was first with a time of 12:59.90. Stanley’s Hadley Reum was 14th with 14:17.30; River DeTienne, 20th with 14:42.20; Mya Anderson, 37th with 15:59.60; Kaylynn Jones, 42nd with 16:47.90; and Corra Parkinson, 50th with 18:28.50.
Up Next: After hosting their own meet on Tuesday, Sept. 2, the Blue Jays are in action next on September 5 in Williston and then will host the Northwest Conference at the Prairie Rose Golf Course on Tuesday, Sept. 9 starting at noon.
