Blue Jays Drop Game To EEK

The Stanley Blue Jays varsity football team continued their season on the road as they faced Edgeley/Ellendale/Kulm in Bismarck on Saturday, Aug. 30 on the Shiloh Christian football field.
This was the second non-conference game on their schedule to open the season.
Stanley vs. EEK
The Blue Jays traveled to Bismarck to face Edgeley/Ellendale/Kulm on Saturday, Aug. 30 on Shiloh Christians’ field in their second non-conference game to open the season.
EEK got on the board first on a six yard touchdown run with the point after kick no good for the only scoring in the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Blue Jays got on the board on a 14 yard pass from Kane Reep to Ben Hynek with the two point conversion failing to tie the score. EEK put four more touchdowns on the board in the second quarter to take a 33 to 6 lead into the half.
In the third quarter, EEK scored two more times, as well as one touchdown in the fourth quarter. Stanley’s Zeke Wienbar scored on a 50 yard pass from Colter Fladeland with the two point conversion pass from Fladeland to Logan Longmuir good for the final score of the game. EEK took home the 53 to 14 victory.
The Blue Jays had 202 total yards, including 87 passing yards and 115 rushing yards, compared to 344 total yards for the Thunder.

Passing: Kane Reep completed 3 of 10 passing attempts for 34 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions; and Colter Fladeland, 2 of 4 for 53 yards, one touchdown and one two-point conversion.
Rushing: Kayden Uran, 24 carries for 84 yards; Landon Hunting, 1 carry for 12 yards; Ben Hynek, 1 carry for 8 yards; Kane Reep, 2 carries for 7 yards; Hunter Warta, 1 carry for 3 yards; and Regan Gustafson, 2 carries for 1 yard.
Receiving; Zeke Wienbar, 1 catch for 50 yards, 1 touchdown; Jevon Johnson, 2 catches for 20 yards; Ben Hynek, 1 catch for 14 yards, 1 touchdown; and Logan Longmuir, 1 catch for 3 yards, 1 2-point conversion.

Stanley vs. Rugby
On Friday, Aug. 22, the Blue Jays were on the road facing Rugby. Rugby got on the board first on a one yard touchdown run in the first quarter with the two point conversion failing. Stanley came back in the second quarter to score on a 25-yard touchdown run with the two point conversion good. Rugby put two more touchdowns on the board in the second quarter to take a 20 to 8 lead into the half. Neither team scored in the second half. In the fourth quarter, Rugby scored again with the two point conversion good. Stanley’s Kayden Uran took the kickoff back 85 yards with the two point conversion failing. Rugby put the final touchdown on the board in the fourth quarter to take home the 34 to 14 win.

Rushing: Kayden Uran had 13 carries for 68 yards and one touchdown; Hunter Warta, 11 carries for 30 yards; Landon Hunting, 1 carry for 2 yards.
Receiving: Ben Hynek had 3 catches for 43 yards and one two point conversion; Jevon Johnson had 2 catches for 22 yards; Austin Kanenwisher had 1 catch for 12 yards; and Ashton Peterson, 1 catch for 11 yards.
