Blue Jay Girls Drop Home Opener To Powers Lake

Stanley’s varsity girls’ basketball team had their home opener on Thursday, Dec. 18, hosting the Powers Lake Ranchers. Powers Lake held a four point lead at the end of the first quarter, extending their lead to eight at the half on their way to the 60-50 win.
As a team, the Blue Jays converted 26% of their shot attempts, compared to 40% for Powers Lake. Stanley pulled down 25 offensive rebounds and 20 defensive boards, compared to 18 offensive and 21 defensive rebounds for the Ranchers. Stanley had 6 assists, 13 steals and 6 blocks. They committed 27 turnovers. Powers Lake had 16 assists, 18 steals, 3 blocks and committed 21 turnovers.
Kiplee Nordloef led the team with 12 points, followed by Annie Roise with 11, Kennedi Murphy with 10, Payton Lystad with 6, CeeJay Bohmbach with 4, Lexi Neset, Evy Davis and Teigan Moe with 2 each, and Carly Rismon with 1.
Payton Lystad had 13 rebounds, followed by CeeJay Bohmbach with 7, Annie Roise with 5, Kiplee Nordloef with 4, Teigan Moe, Carly Rismon and Kennedi Murphy with 3 each, and Lexi Neset and Evy Davis with 1 each.
Annie Roise and Kennedi Murphy each had 2 assists, followed by Lexi Neset and Evy Davis with 1 each.
Payton Lystad and CeeJay Bohmbach each had 3 steals, followed by Evy Davis and Kiplee Nordloef with 2 each, and Teigan Moe and Kennedi Murphy with 1 each.
Payton Lystad and Annie Roise each had 3 blocks.
Powers Lake was led by Eastlin Jensen with 18 points, followed by Isla Breding with 12, Kynlee Erickson with 9, Avah Bullinger with 7, Abigail Nelson with 5, Emma Nelson with 4, Adalyn Bullinger with 3, and Allison Nelson and Makenna Dosch with 1 each.
