Blue Jay Girls At Nedrose Tourney

The Stanley varsity girls’ basketball team was in action at the Nedrose Tournament last week. Tournament action was delayed to a Thursday start with weather forcing a postponement on Tuesday.
In their first game on Thursday, Dec. 11, the Blue Jays met up with Our Redeemers. The Blue Jays held a 6-4 lead at the end of the first quarter, but the Knights found their stride in the second quarter, taking an eight point lead into the half. They extended their lead in the third quarter on their way to the 44 to 31 victory.
Annie Roise led the Blue Jays with 13 points, followed by Payton Lystad with 8, Kennedi Murphy with 6, CeeJay Bohmbach with 3 and Carly Rismon with 1.
Annie Roise had 8 rebounds, followed by Payton Lystad and Kennedi Murphy with 7 each, Lexi Neset with 5, Jacee Johnson and CeeJay Bohmbach with 2 each and Teigan Moe, Maycee Copeland and Kiplee Nordloef with 1 each.

In the consolation bracket, the Blue Jays met up with North Prairie on Friday, Dec. 12. Stanley trailed by two at the half, but a took the lead by the end of the third quarter and had a strong fourth quarter on their way to the 57 to 37 win.
Annie Roise led the team with 20 points, followed by CeeJay Bohmbach and Kiplee Nordloef with 7 each, Evy Davis with 6, Kennedi Murphy with 5, Maycee Copeland with 4, Jacee Johnson and Payton Lystad with 3 each, and Lexi Neset with 2.

The Blue Jays met up with host team Nedrose in the fifth place game on Saturday, Dec. 13. Nedrose got out to a hot start, holding a 23-2 lead at the end of the first quarter on their way to the 54 to 25 win.
Kennedi Murphy led the team with 10 points, followed by Annie Roise with 7, and Jacee Johnson, Payton Lystad, Maycee Copeland and Kiplee Nordloef with 2 each.

Up Next: The Blue Jays will host Powers Lake on Thursday, Dec. 18 for their home opener with A, B and C squads set to play starting at 4:15 p.m.
