Blue Jay Football Season Opens At Rugby

The Stanley Blue Jays varsity football season opened last Friday on the road as they met up with Rugby in non-conference play.
The game started out close with Rugby putting the first points on the board and the Blue Jays answering back. Things took a turn at the end of the first half, with Rugby able to extend their lead on their way to the 36 to 14 victory over the Blue Jays.

The Blue Jays will travel to Bismarck on Saturday, Aug. 30 to play Edgeley-Ellendale-Kulm in another non-conference game. Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m. at Shiloh Christian’s football field. The Blue Jays first home game will be on Friday, Sept. 5 when they host Velva with kickoff set for 7:00 p.m.
