Donald "Don" Hovland was born on February 8, 1933, in Williston in the middle of a good old-fashioned North Dakota blizzard. He died peacefully on August 31, 2026, in Stillwater, MN. A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 115 4th St N, Stillwater, with visitation beginning one hour prior. Memorials are preferred to NDSU Development Foundation, PO Box 5144, Fargo, ND, 58105. (In the memo line on your check, Donald Hovland Scholarship Endowment Fund). This is a scholarship for music education students at NDSU in Don and Dee’s name, or to the Sibyl Center in Stanley, ND.
Blaine M. Van Berkom, 84, of Powers Lake, ND passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Somerset Assisted Living in Minot, ND. A memorial service for Blaine will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026, at the Powers Lake Kingdom Hall, 9070 Highway 50 Powers Lake, ND 58773. Linda Van Berkom of Powers Lake, ND passed away on September 22, 2026, at Sanford Hospital in Bismarck, surrounded by her loved ones.
