Honor Society Members Inducted

Honor Society Members Inducted

Stanley High School Chapter of the North Dakota Association of Honor Society and National Honor Society held their induction ceremony for members of the Class of 2026 on Monday, Apr. 14 in the Stanley High School commons area. This year was the fourth year of induction. Juniors from the Class of 2023 were the first inductees into the honor society.
This year’s candidates for induction were CeeJay Bohmbach, Katherine Gonzalez-Villamil, Laney Jackson, Tylie Johnson, Alexis Laparra, Erika Littlefield, Elizabeth Nelson and Italia Rodriguez.
Ceremonies started with a welcome from advisor Shandi Camino and the pledge of allegiance. Honor society members Abigail Hudelson, Caleb Mortensen, Ayranna Camino and Elizabeth Salgado highlighted the principles of the honor society. The guiding principles are scholarship: academic excellence and achievement; leadership: participation in school activities and community leadership roles; service: volunteer work and community service; and character: the six pillars of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship.
The new inductees then were administered the member pledge to uphold the purposes of the National Honor Society; to be true to the guiding principles; and give unsparingly of their time and energy to promote these ideals. They will strive by word and deed to make these ideals their own. They were then presented their certificates and membership pins by high school principal Alecia Pulver and assistant principal Paula Brown.
The honor society is open to juniors who have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.60 or higher. Membership is not automatic due to academic achievement. They must also meet or exceed, demonstrate, and prove high standards within the guiding principle of scholarship, leadership, service and character. They must complete an application and interview process determined by the local chapter advisory committee and receive a majority vote by the faculty council. Once inducted, the members then each take on their own service project to be completed during their senior year.
