Home And Garden Show Returns

Home And Garden Show Returns

The Mountrail County Garden Club and NDSU Extension Service Mountrail County held tenth annual home and garden show at the Mountrail County South Complex on Friday, Apr. 24 and Saturday, Apr. 25.
Both days were filled with vendors for both home and garden projects, as well as direct sales and craft/homemade items. The Stanley Women of Today were in charge of serving food for those attending.
On Friday, workshops included hand-on horticulture with Emily How with guests able to plant their own herbs. Julie Woodbury also held a workshop helping those attending learn about insects and the difference between pest or pollinator.
Saturdays workshops included Building a Resilient Kitchen with Monica Sem, showing how to use your food well from the garden, farm or store. Fermentation Fun with Trudy Ruland was the last workshop, teaching you how to make things from sauerkraut to hot sauce.
The Home and Garden Show is just one of the projects the Mountrail County Garden Club helps with throughout the community. Those include a community garden, the Main Street flower barrel plantings, landscaping around the Stanley Signs, the Butterfly Garden south of the Fair Building and the Farmer’s Market.
