Easter Eggstravaganza Held

The first annual Easter Eggstravaganza was held on Saturday, Apr. 19 at the Peaceful Prairie Ponderosa, just south of town. The event had something for everyone with estimates of around 500 children and parents showing up.
Area law enforcement agencies bonded together with Stanley's fire and ambulance departments to have vehicles on display. Representatives from those agencies could be found wandering around the grounds visiting with families as they enjoyed the day.
There were inflatables, a balloon artist, face painting and prizes given away throughout the day. The Easter Bunny was on hand visiting with all of the kids as well.
The egg hunt started just after 2:30 p.m. with kids broken down into three age groups and in three hunting spaces. It did not take long for the many eggs to be claimed. Kids could then trade their eggs in for prizes with area business donating a significant number of prizes.
Events wrapped up with raffle drawings and pictures with the Easter Bunny.
The day was a joint effort sponsored by Peaceful Prairie Ponderosa, Stanley Police Department, Stanley Fire Department, The Pursuit Church, Heart River, War Pony, Gustafson Septic Service, JB & Sons, CS Welding, Reynolds Realty, MC Property and Maintenance, Cashwise, Space City Jump, Wild Isla, Wal-Mart of Minot, Border Plains, Stanley Ace Hardware, Town & Country Credit Union, Farmers Union Insurance Brandi Larson Agency, Mountrail County Promoter, MWEC, Hess Corporation, Pepsi Co, Family Dollar, EOG Resources, Piepkorn Family, Gooseneck Implement, Bravera Bank, Girl Scouts, Copper River Floral, Oliver & Crew, ITL ND, G&S Custom Deluxe Detailing and Stanley River of Life Church.
