Crazy Days Sees Good Crowds
Crazy Days returned to Stanley on Thursday, Aug. 6, with something for everyone planned again this year, including the return of some very popular events.
The free lunch sponsored by Bravera Bank, The Title Team and Mountrail-Williams Electric Cooperative was the first event starting at 11 a.m. and drew a crowd for the two hours they were serving.
1st Avenue SE was closed to traffic between Bravera Bank and Prairie Home Furnishings to allow for the inflatables, a dunk tank with the Stanley Wrestling Club members, and the Cash Cube. Local first responders were also set up along the street giving kids a chance to check out the trucks and those that serve to keep the community safe. Wyatt and Tylada Nichols brought in their team to offer horse drawn wagon rides.
The mini Go-Karts were set up in the elementary school parking lot during the afternoon with kids and adults enjoying taking their turn around the track. Tessa Hynek was selling cotton candy and dirty sodas during the afternoon providing treats for those waiting for or wrapping up their rides.
Other snacks during the day included root beer floats sponsored by RTC with the proceeds going to the Stanley Cheer Team and Misfit Minis was back with their mini donuts by the inflatables. BNC offered ice cream sundaes on Main Street as well.
The annual SACK program school supply giveaway was busy in the Stanley Elementary School gym. This giveaway was open to anyone needing school supplies.
Businesses also had treats, giveaways and special bargains throughout the day. The Stanley Farmers Market set up under the pergola on Main Street.
