City Serve Takes On Projects In Stanley

City Serve Takes On Projects In Stanley

City Serve ND, an outreach by The Pursuit churches, was active in Stanley again last weekend as they took on the three projects on Saturday, June 7.
Volunteers were helping out by putting in new sod and shrubs around The Pursuit daycare’s playground on Main Street. They were cleaning out the weeds along either side of the sidewalk that leads from Main to the playground and creating a smooth surface before installing the sod. This will create a more friendly and aesthetic look to the part that faces Main Street.
Another group gathered at the Lowe’s Garden Center tent on Main Street to plant flower barrels to put in the common gathering spaces for the residents at Rosen Place and Mountrail Bethel Home. Volunteers were able to select what flowers they wanted in each of the barrels and planters.
A third group was tackling clean up in the city. They were found in the morning helping to weed the areas around the playground equipment in Wilson Park.

After they finished their projects, they gathered back at the church for grilling and lunch to celebrate their successes.
This is the fifth year The Pursuit held a city serve project in Stanley. The goal of City Serve is to bless the community by helping out with projects that will benefit the community and the residents that live there. Barlow says we are all called to be the church and he hopes in the years to come this event becomes bigger each year as they work together with the churches in the area to add to the projects.
The City Serve ND website says that they enjoy doing projects that help move the organization or individual forward. They value projects where they get to join hands together and minister not only with each other, but to each other. Another core value of their projects is that they are able to spend time with individuals. They get to hear their stories and minister to their spiritual needs, as well as their physical needs.
