Bringing The Spotlight To Young Performers

Bringing The Spotlight To Young Performers

Young voices, big talent, and endless creativity were on full display during the first annual Center Stage Kids camp, hosted by the high school speech and drama coaches. Designed for students in grades 3 through 7, the camp offered a fun-filled introduction to the world of performance through improv games, speech challenges, and expressive storytelling. From dramatic monologues to comedic group skits, students eagerly embraced every opportunity to shine.
Throughout the week, campers developed confidence and communication skills while learning the fundamentals of voice, expression, and stage presence. The week concluded with a fantastic showcase featuring small group and team performances, where students demonstrated the growth, they had achieved in just a few short days. Thank you to the enthusiastic support from high school student volunteers and dedicated parents, the camp was a true success. Organizers are already looking forward to making Center Stage Kids an annual tradition, continuing to inspire the next generation of performers through the magic of the arts.
Speech coach Mrs. Hinkle and drama director Mr. Glueckert are excited to build on the camp’s momentum by bringing more speech and drama opportunities to elementary students throughout the school year. Both coaches believe strongly in the value of fine arts programs, which help young learners develop creativity, confidence, teamwork, and public speaking skills. With continued community support, they hope to make the performing arts a vibrant and accessible part of every student’s education.
