9th Annual Drone Camp For Kids  Set For August 9-10

Tioga Area Economic Development is proud to announce the 9th Annual Drone Camp for Kids, taking place August 9-10, 2025, at the Tioga Community Center. This two-day, hands-on educational event introduces students ages 10 to 17 to the exciting and fast-growing fields of drone technology and artificial intelligence (AI).
Now in its ninth year, the camp continues to inspire young minds through real-world applications, interactive learning experiences, and career-focused technology education.
Program Highlights: Drone Flight Curriculum by the University of North Dakota
Students will train using a hands-on Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) curriculum developed by the University of North Dakota’s prestigious aerospace program. Modules cover drone safety, operation, airspace awareness, and simulated mission scenarios.
Gamification of STEM Learning with Fenworks: Joining for the first time, Fenworks will present a unique drone curriculum and esports strategies to transform traditional STEM learning into an immersive and engaging experience with exciting drone racing!
Adult Workshop - “How AI Will Affect Your Business”: Parents, entrepreneurs, and community leaders are invited to attend a free seminar hosted by Dr. Robert Martin of Elevate Business Solutions, in partnership with UND. The session explores how artificial intelligence is reshaping industries and offers actionable insights for businesses of all sizes. Neset Consulting 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Live Demonstrations by Airport Hobby Shoppe of Minot: The Airport Hobby Shoppe will host live demonstrations of remote-controlled aircraft and multirotor drones, with opportunities for campers and families to explore both hobbyist and commercial UAS models.
Drone Challenges, Competitions and Prizes: Campers will test their piloting skills in obstacle courses, drone racing challenges, and simulated rescue missions. An awards ceremony will honor top performers with prizes and certificates of achievement.

Each student will take home their own drone thanks to Enel Green Power and will be able to register for a free professional drone in our exciting door prize drawing.
